Meet the Cast

Yosha! Can you believe it, Chigara? Samu-kun’s finally finished sketching all the girls for SunRider!

Chiii… It sure is a relief. I thought he would never finish.

Seriously… I don’t see what the big fuss is about. They’re not even coloured or anything… As a matter of fact, he still has alot more sketches to do before he’s finished with all the males!

Ah, don’t worry, don’t worry! I’m sure they’ll be finished sooner of later… And once our portraits are done, we’ll all be able to show off new looks too!

So, I finished sketching all the female characters planned for the game. Man, it took quite a bit of time to get all these done. But I’m still glad how they turned out. ^_^ I’m not quite sure I’m brave enough to create paths for all six of them though. XD Yosha! And now, time for character bios!

 

Asaga Okashi
Age: 19
Gender: F
Birthday: August 8, 112 PD
Bloodtype: AB

She’s a cheerful and energetic girl who’s always on the lookout for adventure. She dislikes her life of privilege as the heiress of an affluent private military corporation, so she has set out on the SunRider to find adventure. However, even if she acts rashly at times, she still has a good heart and is always trying to help undo the harm her father’s company is inflicting across the galaxy.

Chigara Akahadi
Age: 18
Gender: F
Birthday: December 1, 113 PD
Bloodtype: O

She’s a shy and bookish refugee from the conquered planet of Half. She was separated from the rest of her family when her planet was taken over by PACT pirates 10 years ago. Even though she doesn’t speak much, there’s always something going on in her head. There are many strange gadgets and contraptions she has invented littered around her room. (Such as an instant pop cooler and a mechanical puppy) She has joined the crew of the SunRider to find her lost family.

Ikkari Ichinaya
Age: 19
Gender: F
Birthday: Febuary 7, 112 PD
Bloodtype: A

She’s the easily angered tsundere of the SunRider. Her entire family was killed by PACT pirates when she was 12 years old, and she has lived by herself since then. She has joined the SunRider to destroy PACT and avenge her family. Even though she seems cold at times, in fact deep down she’s not really a bad person. She’s very close friends with Chigara and is always helping her out. Having lived in space her entire life, she’s also very good at piloting. She also likes sea food and experimenting with recipes.

Ava Crescentia
Age: 26
Gender: F
Birthday: May 9, 106 PD
Bloodtype: AB

Ava’s meteoric rise in popularity in the United Earth Alliance government was nearly unforeseen by the entire galaxy. After 10 years of troubled warfare between the Earth Alliance and the New Empire of Tropicolois, she has used the general populance’s disgust at the Progress Party’s mishandling of the war to guarntee her Universalist Party’s landslide victory in the elections. She now resides in the office of the Prime Minister and is one of the most powerful figures in the galaxy.

Cosette Cosmos
Age: 19
Gender: F
Birthday: June 20, 112 PD
Bloodtype: AB

Brash and fiery, she’s an infamous PACT terrorist and is wanted dead or alive by virtually every civilized nation in the galaxy. She believes the Earth Alliance and the New Empire of Tropicolis are raging a rich man’s war while the rest of the galaxy burns for it. She has joined PACT after her entire family except her brother was killed in a battle during the war. Not only that, but her brother’s injuries require continual medication which she cannot possibly afford without the assistance of PACT. She’s extremely protective of her brother and will do anything to save him.

Roughly 400 meters across with a wingspan of roughly 200 meters, the SunRider is not the largest warship ever built. However, what she lacks in size, she makes up with cutting edge technology. Powered by the most advanced computer AI ever developed in the galaxy, she is capable of fully autonomous control with only a single captain to approve her actions. Not only that, but it packs a surprising amount of firepower for her small size and is even capable of storing and launching three Ryders.

Her AI seems to have a slightly hauty personality with a tendency to show off by using excessive firepower. But it really couldn’t be helped, since she is the most advanced warship ever built… 

Character Sketches

So in case you didn’t know already, I did a complete 360 and now I’m working on SunRider again. Yes, I know I just broke the number one rule of game making: You never change projects once you start one. I fail.

How did this happen? Well, I didn’t like how the story for Seul Desir was turning out, and since M12-kun really wanted me to work on SunRider, I decided to take another stab at rewriting the story. And guess what, this time it really worked out, so I guess I’m working it now. XD

Besides, there’s just something about three cute girls riding 20 meter tall mechas that really fascinates me. o_o; Could it be something out of a dream…?

Today, I decided to draw up some sketches of how the main characters will look. These are still pretty rough and there are some stuff I need to fix on them. ^_^ But I still think they’re really cute! *huggles*

 Chii… Please stop being perverted and get back to work…    

    

Ikkari

Obviously, there’s been some changes since the original. I took some notes off of Sixten’s sketch of her in his blog post and now she’s wearing an official tsundere ponytail instead of whatever she was doing with her hair in Raidaa. Not only that, but she’s also gotten a new shirt instead of wearing that boring old brown coat around.

 

Chigara 

Actually, not much as changed for Chigara. As a matter of fact, she’s still wearing the exact same clothing! Her hair band’s now gotten a bit bigger and her eyes have become rounder. Also, I think she looks somewhat older now. (?) But other than that, not much different. [edit: made some minor changes to her after uploading, will update tommarow]

 

Asaga

Woah, if I hadn’t written that she’s Asaga, then she’d be completely unrecognizable, huh? Obviously, there’s been some pretty big changes here. She’s still wearing pig tails, but now they’re up above her head instead of at the bottom. Not only that, but she’s traded in her old cloths for a coat. And now she looks even cuter! ^_^

Well, that’s it for now. I’ll be making the lineout and colouring them now! Let’s hope I don’t mess them up. XD

Dango Movie (Spoilers)

So I finally managed to see the Clannad Movie…

Man, that was soooo sad. =_=; I think if I ever get the game, I’ll only play Kyou’s path so I don’t have to get emotionally scarred like that again. o_o; And they didn’t do what they did in Kanon 06 and resurrect Nagisa at the end. Uguuuu~ >_<;

Now I don’t ever want to see another sad anime for awhile now… I hope the anime series doesn’t end like that. o_o; Man, I think I’ll go and rewatch Manabi Straight or Azumanga Daioh now to cheer myself up.

The State of Things

Woaahh… I can’t believe I actually got a 1000 blog views! I definitely wasn’t expecting this to happen when I first started this blog. Yosha! I’ll have to start posting more interesting stuff here. ^_^

Mm… On my projects side, A Mon Seul Desir is taking quite a bit longer than expected to write, mostly because I’m really trying hard to improve the quality of the writing over what you’ve already seen in Raidaa. I’m really trying to make the writing more poetic. I think the VN format is perfect for making poetry since it only displays
singe lines
at a time
like this!
Obviously, I won’t be writing the entire game in verses, since that would be overdoing it. But as a whole, I’m really trying to make best use of the rhythm, alterations, similes, parallelism, and such… The other problem is that the majority of the novel’s narrated in the first person by Maray and I’ve always found first person narratives to be more difficult to write than just straight up dialouge. But seeing how the narrative has already saved me from alot of CG pictures that would have otherwise needed to be drawn to portray the action, in the long term I think having the game told in the first person narrative should actually save me alot of time.

Oh, and I happened to come across the cutest animation of Tsukasa ever!

Clannad (SPOILERS)

Uguu… It looks like they’re going to cut the majority of Tomoyo and Kyou’s story arcs in the anime now that they’ve started Nagisa’s arc. Since most of us won’t ever get to play the visual novel in the first place, it looks like somebody on Crunchyroll was cool enough to post videos of their endings in the game. Take a look. ^_^
