Weekly Update #6 [NSFW]

Today’s edition of the weekly update is not safe for work! Hide your kids! Don’t open at work or at school!  At least look around your shoulder and make sure that your boss isn’t watching! Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

OP Song

We have received our OP song straight from Japan!  We’re still working out some of the final details though, so we can’t show it yet.  We thank Mr. Keita Takanashi (check out his other works!) and Lily An (Sound Cloud) for providing our OP song.  We hope that you guys like it when we unveil it very soon. (I’m hoping sometime during next week.)

Hi-jinks

Unfortunately, this week was a rough week for Love in Space.  I was at school for 12 hours a day for the last six days to prepare for an exam, and I’ll be following the same schedule next week.  Paul got called out for overtime work last Wednesday until next Sunday and Steve’s been busy recording for an orchestra this week.

Ah, but I’ve cleared my schedule for most of March and April, so I’ll likely be able to work on Sunrider much more.  It’s taken some time for us to adjust our lives after our huge Kickstarter success, but once March comes around, we’ll work around the clock to become a fully fledged game development studio.

We still expect to launch the Episode 1 beta in March, so we hope that you enjoy the new grand opening of Sunrider.

Dakimakura

Now the moment you’ve been waiting for!  Even though half the team was busy with real life issues, the other half has still been working hard on the game.  We have finished the very first official Sunrider dakimakura!

To say the least, it was a difficult task to get First Officer Ava Crescentia to pose in these photographs.  Only through the considerable application of national resources, under-the-table handshakes, and grey area legal dealing could we get Commander Crescentia to agree to grace the covers of our dakimakura.

Our efforts were not in vain, for the Commander has not disappointed us with her beauty!

And now, before everyone asks me at the same time:

Yes, yes, don’t worry, we will be selling these for the people who missed the Kickstarter.

Once things settle down and our game development studio is running smoothly, we’ll open our very own line of Sunrider branded merchandise, including the dakimakura covers.  We’ll carry the regular anime goods: dakis, t-shirts, posters, mech models, etc.  Please look forward to it and we highly appreciate your patronage! Since our game’s gonna be released for free, we’ll be counting on our merchandise sales to fund our studio.  We hope that this business model works out for both us and our fans so that we can continue to make more visual novels like Sunrider in the future. :)

So I hope that the daki has made up for the lack of progress on the game this week.  We will work twice as hard once March comes around to make up for this!
